There's a rumor that Narberth's Chief of Police has a salary of $150K plus bennies. What's the deal and just exactly how much is the Chief's salary?

Editor

The Chief of Police is Mayor Tom Grady. He receives no salary.

Our highest paid police officer is Lieutenant Arthur Pavoni. His 2008 salary was $92,463.00. In addition he may receive an amount of overtime pay depending on hours worked. The budgeted amount for 2008 overtime for the Lieutenant was about $12,000. I don't have the closed budget on hand to see the actual values.

Benefits such as medical, pension, etc are not included in the above figures.

A copy of the Borough budget is available at the Borough office.

Between 2007 and 2008 there was a significant increase in police offer salaries (approx 17%) as a result of a Borough Council decision to put their salaries on par with those paid to Lower Merion Police Dept.

NICE!

A 17% increase from last year to this year, not bad in this economy. I asked my boss if he would increase my salary 17% this year and fell off his chair laughing, but that's the real world.

Thank you for the information.
