• Narberth T-Shirts Fundraiser - The Narberth Boy Scout Troop 176 is selling its Narberth shirts at Ricklin’s Hardware for a limited time from now through New Years. T-shirts are heavy-weight 100% cotton and come in a wide variety of colors. $15 each. • Caroling Schedule - Tuesday, December 23, will have scattered caroling and music beginning at 6:00 PM!  Mayor Grady says, "I promised my Sophie, who began trumpet lessons this year, that we would play holiday music around the Borough. Narberth and LMSD Redistricting: Draft 3R

The latest plan from the Lower Merion School District divides the town into three segments.  Northeast Narberth Students may only attend Harriton.  Northwest Narberth students can choose to attend LMHS or Harriton. South Narberth students attend a different elementary and middle school than their North Narberth friends but will have choice in regards to High School. 

The Narberth Walks Together organization is protesting this unnecessary subdivision of our community.  The decision to sub-divide Northeast Narberth as a no-choice area affects only 10 students next year.  The organization believes that Lower Merion School District can go all the way, allow full school choice (which is what currently exists in Narberth) and remove this subdivision.  For more information, visit www.narberthwalkstogether.info

You can also send your thoughts to the Lower Merion School Board. Comments may be submitted until January 6th via email (redistricting@lmsd.org) and mailed c/o Fran Keaveney, Board Secretary, Lower Merion School District, 301 E. Montgomery Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003.

On January 12th, the School Board is expected to make a final vote on the redistricting plan.

What happened to the Narblog?

My apologies to all Narberthians.  Work and life have kept me from the Narblog during what has turned out to be a critical time for all of us.  There has been a lot of activity in regards to the upcoming 2009 Narberth budget, the LMSD redistricting, and more.  I haven't been able to be there to report the news and I'm sorry for that.

But, I move forward.  With the end of the holiday shopping season upon us, I will return to regular postings on the news and events around Narberth.
